SCRIPTURE INGREDIENTS;
“And when they shall say unto you, seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter; should not a people seek unto their God? For the living to the dead.” Isaiah 8:19.
“There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulted with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.” Deuteronomy 18:10-11.
The dictionary defines familiar as being intimate or friendly with someone or something.
It means when one or something is acquainted with another, i.e. closely knit together.
Now, we will examine what familiar spirits are and the kind of warfare prayer to pray against their evil activities in our lives.
Familiar spirits are notorious and dangerous spirits that operate from the fall of the devil till date.
They have manifested from generation to generation and also from family bloodlines.
They are called familiar spirits because of their familiarity with men.
Familiar spirits are evil spirits on demonic assignment that surveys and studies people, territories and the bloodline of families.
They are satanic spies, informants and broadcasters.
Their aim is to gather spiritual intelligence that will open doors to instigate death and destruction.
They enter and gain power and control in people’s lives by disguising themselves as something common(familiar) while operating unawares through people, places and things.
A person can wilfully form a relationship with a familiar spirit oftentimes through ignorance.
Some of the signs of one being under the attack of familiar spirits includes;
- Ignoring your spiritual life and growth.

Experiencing financial failures regularly.

Experiencing hardship on all fronts.

When you experience a continuous broken relationship.

Failure at the edge of breakthrough.

Seeing familiar faces in the dream hurts you.

Seeing familiar faces in the dream posing as friends and collecting your personal belongings from you.
These are all the works of familiar spirits in our lives.
The devil has no weapon in his armoury except tricks, fear and deceit.
The devil moves around like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour.
Most times he uses familiar spirits not just to gather information but also to afflict the children of God.
Most times the devil uses this information against you, making him pose like the spirit of light.
God has given us instructions to stand against the wiles of the devil and all appearance of evil.
Familiar spirits are some of the wiles and appearance of evil, you must stand against them through the power of the written word and prayer.
You as a redeemed child of God has been given power and authority to trample upon every evil dart of the devil, familiar spirits are one of them.
You must exercise that authority.
Jesus said all power in heaven and the earth has been given unto me.(Matthew 28:18).
So Jesus has the power to subdue every power of darkness for your sake, including familiar spirits.
He has bruise Satan under your feet and obtained eternal victory for you on the cross.
So exercise your authority of Sonship and overcome every familiar spirits working around you and inflicting untold pain and hardship against your life.
Remember that your life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3), therefore no familiar spirits has the power and rule over your life and destiny.
You have to walk in the light of this knowledge and understanding before your warfare prayer against familiar spirits will have any effect.
Always take hold of the shield of faith as your defence and the sword of the spirit as your offensive weapon against the activities of familiar spirits in your life.
You must also be a man of prayer and fasting because the Bible reminds us in Matthew 17:21 “Howbeit, this kind growth not away but by prayer and fasting”.
When it comes to this point, you have to be fervent in prayer and fasting to root out every of their controlling power and monitoring mechanism against your life.
You have to disarm them and render them powerless.
Below are prayers to help you engage these familiar spirits and obtain your victory through Jesus Christ.
In the book of 2 Corinthians 2:14, it says, “Now thanks be unto God who always causes us to triumph in Christ, and makes manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place”
God will cause the savour of His knowledge upon you and you will be triumphant over every familiar spirit at work in your life.
NOW, GAINING Power against familiar spirits
Life is a battle. Even if you are not ready to fight, the devil will not spare you.
He remains a restless fighter and a stubborn destroyer.
The realm of familiar spirits is a dangerous department in the dark kingdom.
Familiar spirits generally enter into people’s lives secretly and settle down to perpetrate all forms of wickedness.
One of their tactics is to set a spy network with which they gather information to be used for attacking their victims.
