Joshua 1:7 Too often, Christians shy away from the whole idea of success, thinking, I’ll just be grateful for whatever the Lord gives me.
Such misguided believers have confused success with greed and discontent. How can this be?
It is because of the overwhelming obsession with the world’s definition of the term.
To most people, the word is equivalent to ‘wealth’ or ‘power.’ If you stopped the average person on the street and asked whether he is successful, there’s a good chance he would start talking about his career or investments.
He might even make a passing reference to his ’15 minutes of fame.’ Most people simply have no other frame of reference for the concept. But these parameters have nothing to do with spiritual success.
The heavenly Father calls His children to live triumphantly. If the pursuit of success were sinful, how could the Lord have made the promise found in Joshua 1:7? Was He promising money? No. Was He promising fame? No. The Lord was promising success.
For Joshua, this would mean military victory, steadfast faith, and the fulfillment of God’s promise to Moses.
Joshua was not concerned with money or fame; rather, he was intensely focused on accomplishing God’s plan for him. Armed with the power of the Word, Joshua marched boldly ahead and received the Lord’s blessings.
And for that, God called him a ‘success.’ Do not be confused—the trappings of the world have nothing to do with succeeding spiritually.
Your family, relationships, integrity, faithfulness—these are the things that work together as a godly way of measuring success.
Prayers To Overcome Greed
- Father I come before You today, just as I am, forgive every of my sin that is making Your face to be far away from me in the name of Jesus.
- Every problem that creeped into my life as a result of greediness, Lod forgive me and deliver me today completely in the name of Jesus.
- Every power that want to limit my progress as a result of greed, break by fire in the name of Jesus.
- You arrow of greed fired into my destiny, vanish by the fire of God in the name of Jesus.
- Every career greed, over my career, perish by fire in the name of Jesus. Every spiritual greed fired into my finances, die by fire in the name of Jesus.
- You arrow of covetousness operating in my life, vanish forever from my life in the name of Jesus.
- Every spirit of self-centeredness that is bringing greed into my life, perish by the fire of God in the name of Jesus.
- I receive grace to love genuinely and be a giver and not expect anything in return in the name of Jesus.
- Every power positioning me and luring me to greediness crumble by fire in the name of Jesus.
- I conquer every giants of greed in my life in the name of Jesus.
- Every garment of greed upon my life, tear away by fire in the name of Jesus.
- Lord Jesus I decree in the name of Jesus that You are more than enough for me; therefore, I lay down all my greed attitude at Your feet in the name of Jesus.
- I break away from every familiar friends introducing me to greed in the name of Jesus.
- Father, liberate and deliver me from every money greed fired into my life in the name of Jesus.
- Lord Jesus, help me to find my peace and rest in Your words in the name of Jesus.
- I bind every yoke of greed laid upon me knowingly or unknowingly in the name of Jesus.
- I refuse to serve two masters in the name of Jesus; therefore, you spirit of greed in my life, perish by fire in the name of Jesus.
- I decree in the name of Jesus that as I proceed and progress in my career, greed will not overcome me in the name of Jesus.
- You spirit of greed that has vowed to destroy my promotion, perish by fire in the name Jesus.
- Nothing shall be able to separate me from the love of God not even greed in the name of Jesus.
- I separate myself from every unfriendly friends that may want to introduce me to greed in the name of Jesus.
- Every power from the pit of hell, that has vowed to sponsor my fall through greed, fail woefully in the name of Jesus.
- I cover my eyes with the blood of Jesus and fire of the Holy Ghost, I declare I will not see things that will make me fall short of Your glory in the name of Jesus.
- My legs will not take me to where God’s grace is not in the name of Jesus.
- I sanctify my hands with the precious blood of the lamb, I will not take what is not meant for me by force in the name of Jesus.
- Spirit to be contended overshadow my life from now till the end of my life on earth in the name of Jesus.
- Every power looking for my downfall as a result of greed, fall and fail in the name of Jesus.
- Father I thank You because you will never leave me nor forsake me in the name of Jesus.
- Thank You Lord Jesus, for You are a prayer answering God, thank You Lord for answering ,my prayers in the name of Jesus.
