I reject every storm of confusion, and claim a sound mind in the

Every faulty foundation in my life, receive the fire of God in the

I fire back every arrow of mind destruction fired into my life back to

I cast down and bring to nougbt every demonic imagination against
me and my family in Jesus’ name.
I immune my spirit, soul and body against every vain imagination in
the name of Jesus.
I cast out, plunder and frustrate every satanic imagination against my
life in the name of Jesus.
Lord, I pull down every stronghold of the enemy over my life in the
name of Jesus.
I pull down and roast every demonic ladder the enemy is using to
climb into my life in the name of Jesus.
I come against every evil pronouncement made against my life in the
name of Jesus.
I arrest and bind every satanic notebook written against my life in the
name of Jesus.
I cancel and nullify every imagination of enemy upon my life in the
name of Jesus.
I take captive every evil thought in my heart in the name of Jesus.
Blood of Jesus, cleanse my heart from every evil thought in the name
of Jesus.
My heart be delivered from every evil thought in the name of Jesus.
I shield my heart with the fire of God from every evil thought in the
name of Jesus.
Heavenly thoughts, fill my heart in the name of Jesus.
You my mind, in the name of Jesus, you will not push me to hell.
You habitation of darkness in my heart, be desolate in the name of
Jesus.
Every evil attack on my mind, be defeated in the name of Jesus.

When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth.

And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.

Luke 2:39-40

There are so many things about the Christmas story that surprise us.

That the God who fills every corner of the universe should squeeze himself into human form is astonishing.

That Jesus would be so human? Shocking!

Yet it says in Colossians 2:9, “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.”

When Jesus was born and as he grew, and even as he started his public ministry, no one questioned his humanity.

The shepherds and the wisemen, and later on the disciples and the crowds, all of them saw and heard for themselves.

They touched Jesus and walked beside him. They ate meals with him. It was a given that he was human.

But as David Mathis says in his book The Christmas We Didn’t Expect, “By the second generation of Christians and beyond, it was a given that Jesus was divine.

After all, they worshipped him. And as time went by, within the church at least, the truth about Jesus’ humanity was soon neglected and even denied.”

Mathis insists that we not make the same mistake. He says, “[Christmas] is a ripe opportunity for reflecting on not just the easy parts of the incarnation, but also the uncomfortable parts of what it means that our Lord is fully human.

For not only did the Son of God have – and still has – a fully human body, but also a fully human mind, heart, and will.”

Throughout the gospels Jesus had deep emotions. He was sorrowful, he was deeply moved, he was greatly troubled.

He prayed with loud cries and tears. We also read that Jesus was exceedingly joyful. As John Calvin once said, “Christ has put on our feelings along with our flesh.”

Jesus also has a human mind. The scriptures say he increased in wisdom. He didn’t start with it all.

He told his disciples that he didn’t know the day of his return. Here we have one person who has both an infinite, divine mind, and a finite, human mind. As much as a paradox as

it is, the Bible affirms that Jesus both knows all things as God, and doesn’t know all things as man.

It’s not a contradiction (as David Mathis explains), it’s a particular glory of this God-man, Jesus.

Perhaps the most difficult thing to grasp about Jesus being fully human is that Jesus has a human will.

There in the Garden of Gethsemane he prays to his Father, nevertheless “not as I will, but as you will.” That is a mystery beyond our grasp.

Jesus whom we celebrate this week is like us in every way, body, heart, mind and will.

Jesus is like us in every respect except… without sin. He took on our humanity not only at the first Christmas, but he took it all the way to the cross.

And then, he took it into heaven as our pioneer, right into the presence of God. I encourage you to read more about this idea in The Christmas We Didn’t Expect.

Today, on Christmas Eve, marvel at the mystery that Jesus took on a human body to save our bodies.

He took on a human mind to save our minds. He took on a human will so that he might rescue our broken will that is so prone to wander.

Jesus became man in the fullest so that he might save us in the fullest. It’s what makes for a true Merry Christmas!

Pray with me: Thank you God for this great mystery of how Jesus is fully divine and fully human.

Thank you, Jesus, for living a sanctified life so that I can be sanctified and pioneering my journey to heaven so that I can know the way.

“For my eyes have seen your salvation,
which you have prepared in the sight of all nations:
a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
and the glory of your people Israel.”

Luke 2:30-32

Christmas cards are arriving in the mailbox and with each sentiment on every card, joy is rising. Even as I write, I’m listening to “Joy to the World” on Pandora and the words keep fanning even more joy. Across the living room, my friend is wrapping my Christmas presents I’ll be giving to family; just watching her skill with ribbon and wrapping paper brings a smile. There’s something inexplicably charming and other-worldly about Christmas. Crisp nights and tiny twinkling lights, hot cocoa and coffees, and friends at your front door bearing gifts and a fresh wreath… oh, the wonder of it all!

That’s a good word for it: Christmas is filled with wonder. It’s a feeling experienced by even those who do not know Christ. It’s something even unbelievers sense this time of year.

How is that possible?

David Mathis says in his book The Christmas We Didn’t Expect, that all people sense this enchantment because “at the very heart [of Christmas] is the essence of the supernatural: God himself entering our realm. At Christmas, God ‘came down,’ not just to observe human sin and inflict righteous judgment from the outside, but to be human and work his mercy from the inside.”

So why does Christmas still have this magnetism in a world that tries everything it can to empty it of its true meaning? Because even people who do not know Christ sense something profoundly different about this splendid time of year. David Mathis adds, “Even non-believers sense that the real magic of Christmas is not in gifts and goodies… or homespun traditions with indoor coziness and outdoor snow. What lies at the heart of Christmas, and whispers to every soul is the most stunning and significant fact that God himself became one of us.”

And yet people who deny Christ try to “suppress this truth” as it says in Romans 1:18. The truth about Christmas is so evident in the words to Christmas carols and more. People who don’t believe know that Christmas is different. They realize something is happening that’s beyond them because

“since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse” (Romans 1:18-20).

So, people don’t even need a Christmas card or carol. They can look up into the brilliant night sky. They can wake up in the morning, step outside and everything they see is an expression of God’s invisible qualities. People know that, but they suppress it.

This season, help your unsaved neighbors and friends to recognize the truth, the stunning fact that God himself came to rescue them. Oh, the wonder of it all!

Pray with me: Dear God, I ask that you would have mercy on my loved ones and friends who have suppressed the truth of Christmas.

Help me to further announce the truth of your eternal power and divine nature. I ask that the wonder of the Christmas season would draw those around me ever closer to the Truth.

JOHN 19:1-7

“I am God and not a man.”

— Hosea 11:9

There is a clear and great distinction between God, who is the Creator, and the creation, which is God’s handiwork.

God is forever; creation is for a while. God is perfect; creation, at its best, is very good. Creation contains life; God is life.

That great distinction gets blurred by the incarnation, when the Creator God takes on created flesh.

For nine months, God takes shape in Mary’s womb. Then, over time, God the baby becomes God the man.

Think about what this means. God stands on human legs and sees with human eyes.

God thinks with a human brain, speaks with a human voice, and loves with a human heart. And at the end, God suffers blows and barbs in his human flesh, and he bears humiliation and shame in his human soul.

A whip tears up Jesus’ back. Thorns pierce his brow. Slaps burn his face. Along with the thorny crown, a robe of royal purple completes the mocking picture of Jesus as a pathetic nobody, worthy only of pity.

“Look at this guy!” Pilate says with scorn in his voice (John 19:4-5). Yes, look at him. Jesus is just a blur, about to be smudged out.

He looks nothing like God and nothing like a king. And that’s the wonder of it. Because Jesus, the broken man, is God and King.

Jesus, help us to see clearly who you are so that we can love you more fully and follow you more closely. Amen.

A. RENOUNCING MEMBERSHIP OF EVIL ASSOCIATIONS

I command the fire of God to roast and burn to ashes every evil bird, snake, or any other animal attached to my life by the evil association In the name of Jesus.
I dismantle every hinderance, obstacle or blockage put in my way of progress by my involvement in these evil associations in the name of Jesus.
All the doors of blessings and break-through shut against me due to my involvement in these evil associations, I command you to open in The name of Jesus.
B. CURSES
I break and cancel every inherited curse in the name of Jesus.
Lord remove from me all the curses placed upon my ancestral families as a result of their evil associations involvement in the name of Jesus.
I break and cancel every curse placed upon me by my parents in the name of Jesus.
I break and cancel every curse, spell, gannet, hex, enchantment,
bewitchment, incantation placed upon me by my involvement with
evil association in the name of Jesus.
I break and revoke every blood and soul-tie covenant and yokes
attached to them in the name of Jesus.
I purge myself of all the evil foods I have eaten in the evil world with
the blood of Jesus and purify myself with the fire of the Holy Ghost
in the name of Jesus.
All demonic spirits attached to all these covenants and curses, be
roasted with the fire of God in the name of Jesus.
I declare my body, soul and spirit a-no-go-area for all evil spirits in
the name of Jesus.
C. DELIVERANCE PRAYERS FROM SPIRIT HUSBAND OR WIFE.
I divorce and renounce my marriage with the spirit husband or wife in
the name of Jesus.
I break all covenants entered into with the spirit husband or wife in
the name of Jesus.
I command the thunder fire of God to burn to ashes the wedding
gown, ring, photographs and all other materials used for the marriage
in the name of Jesus.
I send the fire of God to burn to ashes the marriage certificate in the
name of Jesus.
I break every blood and soul-tie covenants with the spirit husband or
wife in the name of Jesus.
I send thunder fire of God to burn to ashes the children born to the
marriage in the name of Jesus.
I withdraw my blood, sperm or any other part of my body deposited
in the altar of the spirit husband or wife in the name of Jesus.
I bind you spirit husband or wife tormenting my life and earthly
marriage with hot chains and fetters of God and cast you out of my
life in the depth pit and command you not to ever come into my life
again in the name of Jesus.
I return to you every of your property in my possession in the spirit
world including the dowry and whatsoever was used for the marriage
and covenants in the name of Jesus.

LORD, I thank you for answered prayers

I reject, revoke and renounce my membership of any of the following
evil associations.
Jezebel spirit, Marine spirits, Water spirit, Queen of the Coast,
Mermaid spirits, Familiar spirits, Witches and Wizards, Spirits of the
dead and all other occult societies in the name of Jesus.
I withdraw and cancel my name from their registers with the blood of
Jesus.
I reject and renounce all such names given to me in any of the evil
associations in the name of Jesus.
I resign my position in any of these associations and withdraw my
services and responsibilities permanently in the name of Jesus.
I reject all the evil works I have done to innocent people through my
membership with these evil association and beg the Almighty God to forgive me and wash me clean with the blood of Jesus.
I purge myself of all evil foods I had eaten in any of the evil associations with the blood of Jesus.
I bind you water spirits, marine, queen of the coast, Jezebel spirits,
familiar spirits operating in my life with hot chains and fetters of God
and cast you out into the deep, and seal you with unquenchable fire of
God in the name of Jesus.
I withdraw any part of my body and blood deposited on the evil altars
in the name of Jesus.
I withdraw my pictures, image and inner-man from the altars and
covers of the evil associations in the name of Jesus.
I return any of the things of evil associations I am connected with, the
instruments and any other properties at my disposal for the execution of duties in the name of Jesus.
I hereby confess total separation from the evil associations in the name of Jesus.
Holy Spirit, build a wall of fire round me that will completely make it
not possible for these evil spirits to come to me again.
I break any covenant binding me with any of these evil associations in the name of Jesus.
I break all inherited covenants and all such covenants I consciously and unconsciously entered into in the name of Jesus.
I bind the demons attached to these covenants and cast them into the
deep in the name of Jesus.
I resist every attempt to return me back to the evil associations with The blood of Jesus, fire, brimstone and thunder of God.
I renounce and revoke all the oaths I took while entering the evil
associations in the name of Jesus.
I break and cancel every evil mark, incision, writing placed in my spirit and body as a result of my membership of the evil associations with the blood of Jesus and purify my body, soul and spirit with the Holy Ghost Fire in the name of Jesus.
I break all covenants inherited from my ancestors on the father and
mother side in the name of Jesus.
Lord break down every evil foundation of my life and rebuild a new one on Christ the Rock.

For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

2 Corinthians 1:5-7

Yesterday we saw how your suffering can benefit others. My friend, Jane, was in and out of hospitals constantly before the Lord finally took her home, releasing her from a very painful disease.

Her condition was made more bearable because she was able to witness the impact her testimony had on her nurses and doctors.

There was Charity, the transplant nurse, who was coolheaded in the operating room but coldhearted about spiritual things. Until she met Jane.

There was Marge at the nurses’ station who constantly whined about the hospital pay scale and new regulations. Her whining ceased when she became friends with Jane. Others going through menopause or midlife crisis began to see their problems fade, once they spent time with my friend.

Eventually she became completely blind and unable to physically do anything. But Jane didn’t have to worry about feeling useless or having no purpose for living. Through eyes of faith, she knew her suffering was for the comfort, encouragement, and salvation of others.

If you are distressed, it is for the comfort of others. If you are suffering, it has a bearing on the salvation of those who, even at a distance, witness your perseverance.

God invites unbelievers (and a few vacillating believers) to examine the foundations of your faith. Your witness is as bold as the claims upon which your faith rests…and this makes skeptical people think twice about God.

Father and God of all comfort, help me to live in the way of 2 Corinthians 1:5-7 today.
