If you believe God is sovereign (and I hope you do), then you will say things like, “God plans, ordains; he allows or permits things to happen.”
But know this: Even when the devil asks permission of God to wreak havoc, it’s not like he twists God’s arm until the Lord caves in, saying, “Okay, okay; back off; cause calamity if you must, but this far and no further.”
No, God is never forced into granting the devil permission. God never runs behind Satan with a mop and bucket, hoping to clean up the things the devil’s ruined.
He’s never frustrated or hindered by satanic schemes; truth is, he actually uses devilish deeds for his own glorious ends –like at the cross where God turned the world’s worst murder into the world’s only salvation. If he did that? You can trust his purposes in your suffering.
